Gamepasses and Shop

Own A Market (wiki: Own A Grocery Store) sells Robux boosts in the in-game Shop and on the Roblox store tab. Players search “VIP,” “2x cash,” and “auto collect” before they finish the first banana shelf. This page is the spend map: which pass actually moves income, which is just a chat flex, and how cash packs interact with rebirth.

Robux prices change. Numbers you saw on a Carousell listing, Discord ping, or month-old YouTube short can be stale. Open the live Shop before you buy, then re-check after updates. Nothing here is a fixed price list.

Pair this with controls and UI so you know where Shop sits relative to Markets / Upgrades / Rebirth, and with the upgrades tier list so Robux multiplies a sane cash order instead of empty decor.

VIP gamepass versus free VIP servers

Two different “VIP” phrases confuse new accounts.

VIP (paid gamepass) is the Shop perk. Community playthroughs and shop copy consistently describe extra customers plus a VIP chat tag. More buyers only help when shelves are stocked and a cashier (or you) is ringing sales. VIP does not goldify products, unlock Grocery Store 2, or replace worker speed. Buy it when floor one already prints and you want denser traffic — not as a substitute for corn, eggs, and milk.

Free VIP servers are the Roblox private-server option the official description advertises for lag. Public servers hold six plots; animals, customers, and other bases cost frames. Lag makes green pads miss purchases and cash piles easy to ignore. A free VIP server is a performance fix, not the VIP pass. You can use a free VIP server with zero Robux spent on the VIP gamepass.

If the floor stutters while you are testing Shop buys, move to a free VIP server first so you can see whether the pass actually fired.

Double / X2 Cash

Double Cash (also labeled X2 Cash in some shop UIs) doubles earned money from the market loop. It is the cleanest long-session multiplier: every banana, egg, yogurt, and Floor 2 specialty ticket pays twice while the pass is owned. It does not invent customers, restock shelves, or feed chickens. An empty register still earns zero × 2.

Spend order still matters. Use Make Money Fast and upgrade priority so Double Cash rides on workers and animals, not on you hand-carrying one banana. Stacking Double Cash with a healthy Floor 1 (and later Floor 2) is how Robux shortens the walk to $30,000 Store 2 or the first rebirth gate.

Temporary Gift buffs that say “2x cash” or “2x buyers” are separate from the permanent gamepass. Claim Gifts anyway; they expire.

Auto Collect (paid) versus workers versus scripts

Three tools all get called “auto collect.” They are not equal.

  1. Auto Collect gamepass (paid) — the official Shop pass that picks up register / floor cash without you walking every pile. Community listings often price it cheaper than Double Cash. It is the legitimate “stop chasing bills” buy.
  2. Worker automation — hire a cashier and restockers, then raise worker speed and stack on the Upgrades panel. This is the intended AFK path and pairs with offline earnings. No Robux required beyond optional passes.
  3. Unofficial scripts — injectors that magnet cash or farm the loop. Read auto-collect and the Scripts Hub before you touch a loadstring. Executors can ban the account; a paid Auto Collect pass will not save a flagged client.

If your bottleneck is empty shelves, Auto Collect only grabs a trickle. Hire and upgrade first. If the bottleneck is a growing cash pile while you restock corn for chickens, Auto Collect (pass or careful script risk) is the right category.

Auto Purchase, X2 Employees Speed, and Manager

Auto Purchase buys eligible floor pads for you when you can afford them. It speeds early expansion and rebuilds after rebirth, but it can also dump cash into the next red pad you did not mean to prioritize — including decor. Watch the plot the first time you enable it. Prefer unlocking income pads (production, workers, animals) before vanity walls, same as the tier list order.

X2 Employees Speed (shop wording varies: X2 Employees / employee speed) doubles how fast hired workers move their loops. It is a strong AFK pass once you already have a cashier and at least one restocker or farmer. Buying it before Worker 1 exists wastes the multiplier on yourself alone.

Manager is the premium “run the store harder” style pass players hunt in Shop searches. Treat the live Shop description as source of truth for exact perks on your client — titles and bundles get renamed. In practice, Manager-class buys sit above basic Auto Collect when you already own workers and want less babysitting during long sessions. Do not buy Manager to fix a plot that still has no corn feeder.

Cash packs and rebirth wipe risk

The Shop also sells cash packs (fixed dollar bundles at climbing Robux tiers). They are instant balance, not multipliers. Use them to bridge a single pad — Floor 2’s $8,000 unlock, a missing chef, or the last stretch to Store 2 — not as a habit every login.

Rebirth wipes progress and cash. Goldify raises product value, then money and pad progress reset. Cash packs spent minutes before a rebirth evaporate with the wipe. If the Rebirth icon is almost affordable, either rebirth first and rebuild with the goldify, or delay the pack until after you confirm. The rebirth planner and Rebirth guide exist for that timing call.

Passes that are permanent (VIP, Double Cash, Auto Collect, Auto Purchase, X2 Employees Speed, Manager) typically persist across rebirth; cash packs and on-hand dollars do not. Always re-read the Shop tooltip after a patch in case a bundle was reclassified.

What to buy first (practical order)

Free first: like the game, join the group, claim Daily rewards and Gifts, then hire workers. There are still no promo codes to redeem.

If you will spend Robux once:

  1. Double Cash if you already restock and collect for long sessions.
  2. Auto Collect if cash piles are the only thing pulling you off the shelf loop.
  3. X2 Employees Speed after two or more workers exist.
  4. VIP when shelves stay full and you want more customers, not before.
  5. Auto Purchase when you trust your pad priority (or you are rebuilding the same plot after many rebirths).
  6. Manager / premium bundles last, once the basics above are owned.
  7. Cash packs only as a bridge to a named pad — never right before rebirth.

Skip every pass if Floor 1 is still empty. Robux cannot outspend a missing banana shelf.

Shop checklist after every session

  • Verify live Robux prices in-game; ignore screenshots.
  • Confirm VIP pass ≠ free VIP server.
  • Decide Auto Collect pass versus worker upgrades versus script risk.
  • Keep Auto Purchase from eating decor pads.
  • Never dump a cash pack into a balance you are about to rebirth away.
  • Re-open Shop after updates; pass names and prices drift.

For movement and HUD icons, stay on controls. For income routes that make any pass worth owning, use Make Money Fast, Floor 2, and Daily claim habits on daily rewards.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Own A Grocery Store on Roblox.

Is the VIP gamepass the same as a free VIP server?

No. The VIP pass adds perks such as extra customers and a chat tag. Free VIP servers are private servers for lag. You can use a free VIP server without buying the pass.

Should I buy Auto Collect or hire workers?

Hire and upgrade workers first — that is the intended AFK loop. The Auto Collect pass only grabs cash piles. Unofficial auto-collect scripts are a ban risk, not a Shop item.

Do gamepasses survive rebirth?

Permanent passes usually stay; cash packs and on-hand money do not. Rebirth still wipes pad progress. Check Shop tooltips after patches and read the Rebirth guide before you confirm.

What is the best first Robux spend?

Double Cash for long grinding sessions once shelves stay full, or Auto Collect if piles are the only bottleneck. Skip VIP and Manager until workers exist. Verify prices in the live Shop.

Where do I claim free cash without buying passes?

Like the game, join the group, claim Daily rewards and Gifts. Codes still have no redeem UI as of this writing.
